New to writing, or a published or soon-to-be-published author?
Whether you choose to attend online or in-person, a Women Writers’ Circle retreat gives you the opportunity to hone your craft, develop new skills, and gather priceless feedback, encouragement and support of other writers.

RETREAT FEATURES:

The main focus of each Writing Circle Retreat is simple:  the perfect time and place to write, discuss, and share your works in progress with other writers.  In addition to big blocks of time to write and enjoy the company of other writers, plan to enjoy:  AUTHOR TALKS AND Q/A’s and/or WRITING WORKSHOPS WITH ESTABLISHED AUTHORS.
Our 2023 retreats will feature bestselling authors Jacquelyn Mitchard (works include The Deep End of the Ocean, inaugural selection of Oprah’s Book Club), Karen Dionne (The Marsh King’s Daughter), and Ann Wertz Garvin (founder of Tall Poppy Writers, author of I Thought You Said This Would Work).  The list of visiting authors for the Kentucky Writing Circle Retreat includes Georgia Green Stamper, whose most recent book (Small Acreages) was longlisted for the 2023 PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay.  Additional visiting Kentucky authors include: Gayle Hanratty (Gray Hampton: A Suite of Short Stories) and Sherry Robinson, whose recent novel (Shadows Hold Their Breath) was named one of the Best Indie Book for August 2022 by Kirkus Reviews. The Kentucky Writing Circle Retreat also features a special guest talk and Q/A by Virginia Underwood, Publisher of Shadeland House Modern Press.

Our “WRITERS READING” SESSIONS are included in both online and in-person retreats and offer participants the chance to share their work with other writers, plus gain feedback and support during FEEDBACK/DISCUSSIONS led by former Creative Writing Instructor and Writer Mollie McClure.

Depending on your retreat, enjoy ADD-ON OPTIONS, such as FIRST PAGE REVIEWS and/or extensive DEVELOPMENTAL REVIEWS with Author Jacquelyn Mitchard and/or Author Gayle Hanratty or Writing Coach Mollie McClure.
